You won’t regret it! Boiled water still hot after 12 hours!
This carafe is great! I struggled with whether to take away a star for difficulty cleaning & water sounding like it was trapped in the lid and in the space between the brushed steel & black plastic bottom, but since it kept my water boiling hot for 12 hours, I just love it!Pros:Looks goodKeeps liquids hot for many hours – but make sure that the button is on the “closed” setting. The first day I had left it on the open setting and the coffee did not stay hot for even 4 hours. Then I had tested the carafe by boiling water in my tea kettle and putting the lid on the carafe making sure that the setting was on “closed.” I found that after 12 hours the water was still too hot to drink. I then tested it the next morning (roughly 24 hours later) and it was luke warm. I read another review that said it kept liquids hot for 24 hours & that was not my experience. I would call it cold, but definitely not hot.Easy to use and pours nicely with no drips.Cons:I wish the interior were wider to make cleaning easier. You will need a water bottle brush to clean the inside.The first couple of times I washed it water was audibly trapped in the lid (i could hear it when I moved it around) and water droplets were still coming from the space between the brushed stainless & black plastic. It had been drying overnight so the water should have been gone. It was a slight annoyance, but not enough to take away a star.

Nice and simple design, keeps your coffee warm
I use this product every single day. I donât like my brewed coffee sitting on the hot plate, but my husband wakes up later than I do. I also sometimes want an afternoon cup of coffee. It does a good job of providing a pretty warm cup of coffee throughout the day.I did a little experiment to test the temperature over time and compare âpreloadingâ the carafe or doing nothing.I boiled water to 200 degrees F and let the water sit for about 5 min in the carafe before adding coffee. Here are the resulting temperatures:When added to carafe – 175 degrees2 hours after adding – 162 degrees4 hours after adding – 154 degrees12 hours after adding – 115 degrees24 hours after adding – 94 degreesJust pouring coffee straight into the carafe resulted in:When added to carafe – 174After 2 hours – 165After 4 hours – 156After 12 hours – 118 degreesAs you can see, preloading the carafe had no impact on keeping my coffee hot. So after diligently boiling water every day, I have stopped. I was expecting the carafe to keep the coffee a little hotter, but Iâm not sure a different carafe would make a difference. The design is simple and nice.

Great choice in Thermal Carafes
2013 UPDATE – Although we have had problems with the “sticky button” one of our people figured out how to disasseble and clean. No more problem. We have 3 of them and all are still working well. (What has it been – 3 years now?)Original Review:I bought this carafe for our office, at an engineering firm (with very picky people). It works excellently. The swivel base is nice, but not a big deal to me. The push button open/closed lid is outstanding. (I haven’t had it long enough to see if it will start sticking. I have no problem with the idea of having to clean it periodically.) As to temperature retention, you pour hot coffee in in the morning, you get hot coffee out in the afternoon. I have noticed that the ability to retain temperature is a function of the “fullness” of the container; two cups of coffee will not stay as hot as a full pot. If you want specifics, I would estimate heat losses for a full pot of liquid to be around 2 degrees per hour. For example, if you pour in 170F coffee, you’ll get it out at 150F ten (10) hours later. (Testing a series of these carafe’s temperature retention abilities would be an outstanding elementary or middle school science fair project!) I would expect 1/2 of a pot of coffee to lose about 3 degrees per hour and 1/4 pot to lose about 5. I doubt you’ll find anything better than this. The only thing I cannot attest to is the longevity of this item. It’s obvious that you can’t drop it (we engineers do like “virtually indestructable”), the “sticky button” issue has been documented (I’ll have to wait and see) and I also wonder about the handle’s attachment to the rest of it. (I think this could be retightened, if necessary, but that may be challenging). Bottom line: If you need a thermal carafe, stop reading and buy the d*mn thing!

Sempre estive atenta a garrafa de café que não escorresse o café pelo corpo da garrafa. Essa marca me foi indicada. Valor muito expressivo. Nada acessÃvel. Mas parece que a qualidade justifica. Fiz quentão sem álcool e coloquei nela. Estava feliz com a minha garrafa. No dia 15/6 após colocar oquentão dentro dela, ela caiu e quebrou a tampa. Aguardando agenda permitir ir até a Liberdade ver se encontro tampa para repor. Senão terei que descartá-la. Esperei bastante para adquiri-la.

La jarra está muy buena, mantiene mucho tiempo el agua caliente y buen tamaño casi 2 litros. Lo malo fue la manera en que lo empacaron, ya que solo viene en la caja de la jarra y por dentro no tenia protectores(pero llego bien)

I had the same model for the past 13 years and the rubber seal disintegrated finally. I was so happy to see this model still in production! The flask keeps liquids hot for at least 12 hours and water still feels warm after 2 days. Great product!
