Priceless Peace Of Mind
I tried to keep my cat indoor-only but like Houdini, he always found a way to go on walkabout. Fitting him with Tractive Cat Mini was a concession toward his happiness and my peace of mind.Location: this has been dead-on accurate and such a huge relief. Recently, I wasn’t able to return home before dark and got a notification kitty was 2 blocks away from our house. I drove right to the address shown in the app, activated the flashing light, called him and bingo, less than a minute later he came right to me and I got him home safe. I have also located him at other areas of the neighborhood during the day and when found he always blinks up at me rather bewildered, like “how did you know where I was?” There have been a number of other times I want to know exactly where he is and this tracker shows me. My only “wish for” is that live tracking is available in the ‘safe’ aka wifi zone. Sometimes I can shut down the program, restart, and have that option, but not always. I know the safe zone is for power saving but sometimes it’s more important to me to know precise location on the property and the wifi/radar tracking is occasionally iffy.Battery: tracking my cat 8-10 times a day for a minute or two each time seems to use about 10% or less per day (kitty is only allowed out during the day). As I learn to trust both tracker and kitty, I’m getting more comfortable not charging the tracker every night, and am satisfied with battery performance. I recently downloaded the program update, so look forward to even more improved location and battery life with the update.Comfort: not gonna lie, even the ‘mini’ takes up quite a bit of furry real estate. But my guy is 20 lbs (ahem, “big-boned”) and seems to wear it comfortably. I purchased the ‘harness clip’ for the Tractive and a dog-sized harness to fit him thinking that would be more comfortable having the tracker weight on his shoulders than having the tracker directly under his chin. Kitty doesn’t like the harness on/off routine so for now we’ll stick with the collar. The collar itself is very good quality and snaps on and off exactly as it should. It is easy to adjust for size and weight of cat (breakaway point). I took the bell off; just something to get in the way and didn’t really produce much sound to warn wildlife.Sound locator: very, very quiet. Hard to hear unless very, very close. The cat will hear it though, and perhaps could be trained that when the song plays it’s time to either come home or start looking for parent to give them a lift.Attachments: I found the best option for us is the flexible rubber encasement that fits onto the collar. It’s easy to remove the tracker to charge and reinstall it. That said, though handling carefully, after 3 weeks of use it has already torn and I’m currently securing it with rubber bands. I’ve ordered replacements, but more robust durability of this item would be most welcome to prevent loss.Subscription plans: I like that I can pay month to month, which has been super helpful during the adjustment period to see if Tractive will be a fit for me before committing to a long-term plan. Tractive is a good fit, so at some point I will consider a longer subscription to lower the monthly cost.App: great app, easy to use, and accurate so far. The out-of-safe-zone and re-enter notifications have worked perfectly. It’s fun to see the other Tractive kitties in the neighborhood and interesting to keep up with my guy’s fitness/sleep stats. But where app really shines is location, location, location. Friends I show this to are amazed and fascinated. A tip if you don’t have the upgraded plan that keeps track of history: screen shot your cat’s location or history map each day to keep a record of their travels. That can be texted to someone helping locate/pick up kitty. Again, the ability to live track in the safe-zone would be a bonus for more peace of mind. Pretty please. :-DValue: with coupons/sales, I was able to purchase the tracker for under $40. I feel the tracker itself is well-made and a good value. I’ve been recommending it to friends and they are enthusiastic. All in all, the Tractive Cat Mini has met and even exceeded expectations on just about every front. My cat is happier, gets more exercise and I am 1000% more relaxed during his absences knowing I can locate him any time I need to. I highly recommend this product for worried pet parents. Please keep working on development to decrease tracker size/weight without losing too much battery capacity, add live tracking to safe area, and beef up rubber encasement attachment. Then it will be absolutely perfect! The big guy and I thank you, Tractive. This was just what we needed!

Reliable, ease of use, simple, good battery.
My review is based on months of use.Yes you have to pay for a subscription. But i found it worth it. I paid for 2 years with replacement warranty. There was one part that gets damage easy so read below.I will address my biggest concern when choosing this product that came up a lot in the reviews. Battery life. Now idk if people use live GPS on phones or watches. But they use a lot of battery life. So the “live tracker” feature is not ment to used 24/7. It updates every 5min or so depending on your setting and connection. It is fairy accurate. And I think battery life is very fare. For example my garmin watch when live tracking GPS hike can drain my whole watch in 6- 8 hours. To save a lot of a battery on this tracker use the power saving mode. By assigning your wifi. Now i was not able to change my wifi so it could connect to the tracker but my hotspot could. And it doesn’t use any data. if it’s near your Hotspot or wifi it’s in the “safe zone” and saves a ton of battery. As long as my phone is not on power saving mode the hot spot and app will update fine and not turn off. If you have a smart watch or garmin. You get updates on your watch if your animal leaves the virtual safe fence you set up.When turning on the tracker. When in doors it can take a minute or more for it to connect. But now I learned it’s much faster to turn it on and let my cat out. App will connect faster. Yes if you leave home you still get updates. We have also have gone out to see if we find him via live tracker and it works. Be sure to check their website if the location works well in your zip code. Now app wants you to keep tracker on for 8 hrs or more. And you get streaks and sleep and health patters. I don’t use it for that. I only let my cat out for sunrise to 4pm (because we live in the desert many coyotes /volutres etc) and he is mostly indoors. Coming and going. And when he comes in I take it off amd then turn it off. If you want to leave it on then of course battery won’t last as long. Now for the damage part. I took a picture. The small button came right out because my cat scratched it off. Luckily we found it. I was able to put it back on and now I put it upside down in the harness. I did get the replacement warranty. But still works fine. But it’s loose so I put tape.Harness breaks aways easy in case cat gets stuck. Once he came in without it. Used live tracker found it by a table outside. When charging it turns it on. So be sure to turn it off.One last thing. For power saving mode you can always use a neighbors wifi to save battery. As long as it’s near your home it serves it’s function. It doesn’t need the password of the wifi. It only needs to detect it. So it stays in power saving mode.Size. I got the mini. Still a bit big even upside down on his neck as you can see. My cat is male, on the smaller size. He is never bothered by it. He will sleep with it on outside. TTemps. I haven’t noticed any abnormal heating up. It’s been 100° plus for months and it will be slightly warm when he returns but his fur is way warmer. So far nothing to worry about.I decided to give it 5 stars despite the damage my cat gave it. Because we live in the desert and ton of bushes with thorns etc. It’s going to get damage via use.

Es compacto, marca bien el GPS y es fácil de entender, tengan en cuenta la suscripción aún a la aplicación pero vale la pena.Lo único que no me.gusta es que la.bateria no dura lo que menciona

I purchased 2 trackers for my cats and signed up for the base monitoring subscription services. The trackers work great and the cats donât seem to mind wearing them when I send them outside. The trackers havenât fallen out of the collar and have good battery life. The Tractive app is great because, it track where in the neighbourhood the cat wanders throughout the day and the amount of distance covered. I have had to go find the cat a few times and the GPS is accurate for finding them when they are out late and you need to go get them. From the app you can trigger a sound and light from the tracker to help in locating the pet. The sound that is made is not the loudest; but having the option is nice.I did have trouble with once of the trackers connecting to the GPS and worked with customer service. They tried several options to restart and reset the tracker; but after a few unsuccessful trys they sent a replacement GPS tracker. The dialog with customer service was quick and polite, while I wasnât happy that the GPS wasnât working Derek from customer service was responsible and did his best to help me out and add a month of extra subscription for the inconvenience.Overall very satisfied with the product, service, and partner app. I have peace of mind that my cats can be easily located and I can track where they are and go.

My favourite thing about it is how good and accurate the live tracking is & that you can add different members to be able to track. My cat is a certified escape artist and I was tired of going on 3 hour search parties for him with the apple air tagð now our whole family can easily find him if needed. I also like the leaderboard with all the other cute cats. The device itself even being mini is a little big , so I would definitely say if your cat is on the smaller side it might be too big. My cat is about 10 pounds & heâs a very long boy, so it works fine. But I still wouldnât mind it being a little smaller. The size of it kinda looks like an ankle monitor, as if heâs in home jailð the good thing is that itâs light. The only thing I think would make it even better is if the alarm sound was a little louder, for when youâre looking for them. But overall 10/10
