as a lifelong candle fanatic, swan creek candles are my current favorite brand for their INTENSE amazing fragrances, hopespun and earthy notes, cottage-y vessels, and how much they remind me of the scents i encounter visiting lancaster/the amish country.i have loved every scent i’ve gotten, at least six, with this being at least seventh. this is a well crafted candle, and the scent is strong. also, normally i love when a potentially cloying scent (much clean cotton is cloying, or weakly balanced with lemon only) is grounded with an earthy note, and i love it when they’re strong.this candle has all of those qualities, and it is such good quality – but some note in the scent is incredibly not for me. it’s like … i want to say lanolin, but it’s not it, it’s like a bitter dried plant scent. and i extinguished it quite a while ago and lit one of my favorites, honey soaked apples, and clean cotton is making it completely undetectable.i definitely think this candle just doesn’t agree with me, it has a 4.9 rating and this is clearly an outlying situation.
