Great packaging and great size for play
Bought these to stock my daughterâs pretend kitchen. The packaging is beautifully done. The items are of good quality and size. I was afraid they would be very small but thatâs not the case. They are the perfect size for pretend play. I included a photo with a coffee can and mug for reference. The graphics are beautiful and bright. Canât wait for the kitchen to arrive so I can get it all together!

This is a great addition to our play kitchen, store, and shopping cart.Pros:Wooden – no worrying about cardboard boxes getting bent.Graphics – great graphics on the front of the toy, but nothing on the back. I thought it would have been nice to put some information about the food on the back like on real food. Especially in a society where reading labels is a big part of knowing what you are eating.Shape of the items – pretty good representation of the real items they represents. For example the spagetti is just like a pack of spagetti you would find in the grocery store.Great value for play food that will last.Cons:Nothing on the back of the itemsHeavy wood could cause pain if dropped on a little foot.Heavy paint smell out the package… Would be a little worried if my little one put it in her mouth, but she is 5 and I don’t have to worry. I point this out if it is purchased for a younger child.

You really can’t go too far wrong with Melissa & Doug. We got these to go with a play kitchen for our kids, and they are so much fun! The kids love how realistic everything looks (especially the box of cheese crackers and the bottle of ketchup), and I really love how sturdy they are. It’s nice to find toys that are actually built to last. After a year of use, the only wear they show is on the bottles of ketchup and salad dressing, where my daughter has chewed on them and the paint has come off a little bit. But considering the daily use these toys get at our house, it’s amazing they still look as good as they do. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially if you have younger kids who are not always careful with toys.

Great Wooden Addition to A Kitchen Set
I am very pleased with this purchase. I was looking for some pantry items for my boys’ kitchen that were not cardboard or paper. I was pleased with the 100+ piece set I bought a few years ago at target for $5 after Christmas because at that price a bunch of plastic fruit and cardboard was a good starter set.However now 2 years later I was finding the boys needing some sturdy pantry items that would last for years of play.I found that not everything was exactly like the picture, but still close enough. I am a bit disappointed as we have not had this set a full week yet and already paint is chipping off of some of the pieces. However I imagine paint chipped toys to be more fun than crushed boxes.I have included some pictures of the items with the boys kitchen and some other food sets including hand made as well as the cheap target set so you can see size comparisons. The items I feel are a very suitable size even for our boys rather small kitchen for our small apartment.I do want to point out that while these toys do not light up or sing a song they are great for imaginative play, sorting and counting. I have 2 children one is 4 and the other 10 months and both enjoy these in their own way and they will never require batteries.

Love it and more importantly my 18 month old granddaughter really loves it! It’s well made and Navy loves playing with all the items in her mini kitchen and grocery cart. All products from Melissa & Doug are well made and well thought out!
