I have bought Nesco urns over the years and been happy with them but this was on sale and I thought I would like the feature of being able to see how much coffee was in the pot. Plus I have had their Brewmaster for years and absolutely love it. I thought they were a good quality. But this has been a complete disappointment.First: The measuring tube very quickly stained brown so that I cannot see how much coffee is left. It is not removable as far as I can see, so it can’t be cleaned. That quickly became worthless.2nd: It does not travel well. I always make the coffee and transport it to our weekly meeting. I have had to secure it in a milk crate completely surrounded with towels including one over the lid so that it no longer soaks everything else around it in the car with hot black coffee. Also, the lid easily misses the slit on one side so that it is often tilted if I don’t notice and will spill even easier.3rd: The spout is very tight and is only 4 inches from the table, so you cannot fit the 12oz paper coffee cups under it without tipping the cup and possibly spilling it. I bought a cake pan to put it on to raise it up another 1.5 inches which helped but the spout is so tight that it frequently pushes the urn off of it and spills. The best I can do is put it up against a wall and hope it doesn’t slide off when someone tries to get a cup.Unfortunately, once I realized just how much I dislike this urn, it was too late to return it. Even though it hasn’t been that long, I am seriously considering buying a different urn and throwing this one away.A huge disappointment. Spend a few extra $$ and get a different brand. Better yet, just go to the store first so you can compare them before you buy.

This coffee urn exceeded my expectations by far! The coffee tastes great, it makes 45 cups at one time and stays warm for hours with no burn or bitterness. The design also does not allow for grounds to get into the dispenser spout, huge plus! I am so glad I bought this!

Perfect for Cold Temps!
I purchased this last second for a hot chocolate bar I hosted at an outdoor fall fest since the temperatures outside were set to be much cooler than is normal for our demographics. It came on time, and was SO easy to use. You basically wash it out, plug it in and go! We used it to hold hot cocoa, actual real cream used, and it didn’t curdle the milk, and was the perfect temperature for kids and adults! The gauge on the outside was a great way to know how much we had left, and it even tells you “in cups” how much is in the urn. For the price and the convenience and ease of use, I would buy this again 10000% of the time!
