Really does peel off leaving smooth face
Since I have oily skin and build up in my chin pores, this looked like something worth trying. The gel is clear, thick, and sticky like honey. The lemon smell was very pleasant. I was not sure how much to apply and squeezed out less than a dime-sized portion (maybe could have used more). I spread it across my checks, nose, and chin. As it dried I felt like I had shiny shrink wrap on my face.When it was time to peel it off, there was no obvious way to grab at it. The best method was to roll my fingers back and forth along the edge of the mask until it curled up enough to grab it and then gently pull it away from the skin. A warm wash remove any bits that were still on my face. My face felt smooth afterwards. In the future I may focus use on my chin to help pull more oils out.Update:One issue is that the tube needs to have a better seal. Because this peel dries easily, it begins to bead up inside the tube between uses. Having something so sensitive to air, either use it often or find an additional way to keep it air tight

Generally good, but not for everyone.
I was expecting a bit more from this product. Since it says it had charcoal, I thought it would be a little darker or opaque. It is a yellowish clear. It looks and feels like PVA glue like some others have said, and mine crystallized like another reviewer said.The box was open and crushed from shipping, but the product itself had a foil seal over the inner opening of the tube, so at least I know it wasnât tampered with.The mask itself has a bit of a lemony smell, which is a little like those car air fresheners, not a very natural smell. It is clear and shiny going on and you donât really know when itâs dry unless you wait and then touch it a bit because it remains shiny even when it dries. Itâs a bit like how glue stays shiny sometimes when it dries. The product is mostly polyvinyl alcohol, which is a water soluble polymer. That probably explains itâs interesting nature.It does peel relatively well and your skin feels a bit smoother after taking it off. Please note, if you have any significant amount of hair it will cause a mess. It does NOT go well over mustaches or beards, and I would guess even peach fuzz might cause a problem. In this case, your only remedy is by dissolving it away slowly and pulling chunks of it out of your hair.My tip is to test it on your arm and/or hand first to see what I mean by how it peels. I definitely wouldnât recommend to anyone with facial hair even if itâs just peach fuzz. I am mixed on recommending it in general since I am a bit confused by the seeming absence of charcoal, strange lemon smell, and weird crystalline consistency.

Has a pleasant fresh lemon smell and seems to clean pores well.
This facial mask has a fresh and pleasant lemon smell. It applies smoothly and easily, although after the first use, the tube developed some minor crystallization in the tube. Nothing that makes it unusable, just not smooth. It takes about 15-20 minutes for it to dry. It peals off easily, pretty much like smearing a layer of PVA glue on your skin and letting it dry. It grabs hold of the gunk in your pores well and leaves your skin clean and smooth.One thing that is odd is that it contains “charcoal extract”. I understand what extracts are from other products, but just what is charcoal extract? What is there but pure carbon to extract from the charcoal? Anyway, if this contains any charcoal at all, it is an extremely small amount. So little that it looks like there isn’t any in it. It has a slightly yellow tint when wet, but as I said, it dries and looks like PVA/Elmers glue when dry. It doesn’t look at all like it contains any.All said it does what it says it does, but I really have to question just how much activated charcoal it contains. It is the last item on the ingredient list meaning there isn’t much in it, and activated charcoal is one of the selling points. It’s also quite expensive for a small 3.38 ounce/100 ml tube.

Nothing Special
I would classify this as just another mediocre mask. It goes on kind of sticky and once dried it peels off relatively easily. I am probably repeating what several other as have already written. The lemon scent is artificial smelling and the product dries out in the tube even though the cap is on tightly. I also wonder if there really is any charcoal given the translucent pale yellow color.

Acts like a pore strip only softer and gentler
This peeling mask is the 2nd item Iâve bought of this line of skincare, and Iâm so happy with this one as well. It cleans so much dead skin and gunk from my pores without drying or dehydrating my skin. The smell is a subtle citrus combined with maybe witch Hazel? I canât quite place it, but itâs not overpowering or bad. It peels off quite easily and doesnât leave behind a bunch of little pieces in the crevices of my face for me to pick out the next day. Itâs a gel-type of peeling mask, not heavy or suffocating on my face and dries pretty quickly (~10 mins) so I can use it even if Iâm running slightly behind on time. I definitely recommend this mask, in fact, the whole Black Lemon line of products to anybody and any skin type. I feel itâd work for just about everybody

An excellent “alternative” peel-off mask
I’ve only used a particular brand of peel-off mask until now, one that has a very earthy smell, runs horribly if you apply it too thick, and costs twice as much per ounce. Compared to that one, I would say the Black Lemon Peel Off mask is better.First of all, it has a pleasant, lemon scent, so I’m not sitting with the aroma of garden dirt drifting up my nose for a half hour. Second, it has a honey-like consistency and doesn’t run much at all with a heavier application–that aside, it does well when applied thinly, too! Third, it seems to dry a bit faster and grips a bit more when peeling off (so avoid the peach fuzz if you want to keep it). I apply it to my nose and cheeks and it works just as effectively as the brand I was using.

This peel has a light lemon smell, and was easy to peel off. After using it my skin felt smooth and soft.However, it didn’t pull out all of my white and blackheads.
